Pre Carnival


We arrived back from Bahia to grey skies and rain which felt like England and made me feel unsettled in my stomach. The worst part of coming back from a holiday is coming back to cold England, grey skies and rain. The difference was, it wasn’t England (phew) and the rain didn’t last too long. We were so tired from our early start to catch the boat (its a hard life) that we spent the afternoon relaxing, doing a food shop and cooking a lovely dinner with Lilly whilst sipping red wine. It feels so much like home here.

The following day Mike, Natalie and I went carnival shopping. We went to the area where Natalie lives called Pinheiros. It’s really quirky. We walked from shop to shop picking up glitter, feathers, colourful fabric, colourful shorts and accessories. We stopped for lunch at a little all you can eat vegetarian…
