MLC’s Lisa Shaw interviewed on Australian radio

Lisa Shaw (Reader in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies) was interviewed on ABC Australia Radio on Monday 6 February about the life and career of Brazilian singer and film star Carmen Miranda (1909-1955), and took calls from Australian listeners who were fans of the so-called ‘Brazilian Bombshell’.

Lisa has written on Carmen Miranda in the edited book Stars and Stardom in Brazilian Cinema, published this month by Berghahn Books, and which features an image of the exuberant Carmen on its cover.
