We somehow decided to spend the next 10 daysof our trip in a place called Búzios. It’s a seaside resort town a few hours by bus from Rio. Apparently the town grew in popularity after the actress Brigitte Bardot shacked up there with her Brazilian lover. I read something about it being quite a glamorousplace. The centre, with it’s cobbled stone streets, bars and restaurants is quite pleasant to stroll around in the day and night. There’s also plenty of different beaches to visit, about 14 I think. I don’t think I could rate it among Monte Carlo and St Tropez in the glamour stakes, however. Once you go out of the centre to the surrounding neighbourhoods I found things a little different. Rubbish on the streets and dogs roaming leaving their business everywhere. I’m not a big fan of dog crap, personally.
