Brazilian military and civilian police have violently attacked and stormed a center for Brazil’s, Landless Workers Movement‘s (MST), their Florestan Fernandes National School (ENFF) in Guararema, outside of Sao Paulo. Opened in 2005, the ENFF has functioned as an education and resource center for cadre of the Landless Workers Movement. The building itself was built by volunteer work brigades from around the country using sustainable construction techniques such as adobe cement. In light of this aggression and the increasing need for solidarity with the people of Brazil in the face of a neoliberal coup I am posting a solidarity statement with the MST from the contingent of ALBA social movements in Canada and affiliated organizations.
