Brazil part 1


Ready Set Rio

Here are my highlights of Brazil so far in no particular order.

– A walk through Salvador’s colourful, cobbled historic old town.  Crumbling buildings held up by props next to beautifully restored houses.  Music all around us, guitars fading as we walked around a corner into a drum beat.  – A cooling swim in the hotel pool, in a circular pond in the middle of the Convent quadrangle surrounded by arched pillars.  Becca’s shivering meant it was time to go.

– Camarao Moqueca – Bahian shrimp stew with palm oil and coconut milk. More shrimp than I could count in an amazing rich sauce, surrounded by rice, manioc, crisp salad and a piquante sauce – delicious.IMG_4264– Going downstairs around the back of a shop, expecting a small capoeira class before experiencing a full on traditional dance show rehearsal, followed by a fantastic capoeira display.  All of this taking place…
