“18.06.2016 Helsinki 26th Samba Carnaval 2016 – Once again, a fresh breeze from Brazil blew over the streets of Helsinki. Samba dance schools vie for the Finnish championship in carnival-style samba. People of all ages were welcomed to watch as Esplanadi were filled with dancers and musicians, in flamboyant costumes, and with fabulous carnival carriages.
The event was organised by Finnish Samba Schools Association (SSKL).”
Regardless of the bad weather on Sunday (strong wind, rain, cloudy, and cold), the crowds turned up at the Samba Carnaval – so did I. I have actually cancelled the plan; but eventually changed my mind at the very last second. I quickly rushed to dress up warm, and left my lunch on the table.
