Follow the Lights


Carnival season is over here in South West Germany, the chance for people here to dress up in strange costumes and consume large amounts of alcohol has passed and pretty much all of the confetti from the street parades has disappeared along with the winter winds. I can’t say that I am overly enthusiastic this time of year mainly because it stops me from working as much as normal and my bank account can’t take any more of that kind of punishment but also because I can’t really see what all the fuss is about. this is the fourth time I’ve had to experience the event but no matter how many times I ask no one seems to be able to really clarify what is going on or they suggest I avoid it like the plague.
