Brazil Aiming to Lead the World Soya Production

Soya is becoming an even more important agricultural crop throughout the world these days and nowhere is this more true than in Brazil. The versatility of the product is one of the main keys to its success and consequently the competition between the South American giant and its main global competitor, the USA.

On Tuesday of this past week the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture declared that the country’s goal was to overtake its US rival and become the undisputed world leader in soya production. There are signs that this may well be about to happen with both countries projecting yields of around 90 million tonnes this year. There’s a strong possibility of Brazil edging into the lead.

President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil congratulated the nation’s large ‘agribusiness’ producers for the part they are playing in this.
