We receive a steady stream of enquiries at the moment asking whether new people can join Manchester School of Samba (MSS). The answer is a most affirmative yes (rather than “yes but…”).
We enjoy the excellent, energetic and accessible choreography of Danny Henry showing you how to Samba, or move to a Samba-Reggae or Maracatu and our percussion parts are designed to be simple at first but can be built upon as you learn the consensus as to the nature of our sound with guidance from the Musical Director.
We hold regular costume making sessions when we repair as well as construct our costumes, and when funds allow construct a simple float to use.
This organisation was formed in March 1995 and we definitely need a larger pool of performers to bolster this institution and now is the time to become part of it!
So why not come down and try it for yourself? It may enrich your life!
