Trip & Travel News

No need to be a big fan of contemporary art to get me want to visit the MAC, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Niteroi, Brazil. The truth is that this structure which was designed by the well known architect Oscar Niemeyer, it is better to be admired from the outside. It looks like a huge flying saucer from outer space landed on top of a cliff which is not far from Rio.

This giant flying saucer on top of the cliff was constructed in 1996 and its hight is 16 meters. The diameter of the saucer is 50 meters and houses three floors of exhibition space and a big pool surrounds the base. The museum fits with the environment it stands in a perfect harmony overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro and the beautiful sea.
